The Oasys Computer Program
Oasys-2 is a computer program that plots and interprets serial peak expiratory flow (PEF) readings of patients suspected as having occupational asthma or work-related asthma. Oasys-2 uses a discriminant analysis to score the record between 1 and 4 using a cutoff of 2.5. Scores above this have a 94% specificity for occupational asthma and a 75% sensitivity when using independent methods of diagnosis. Oasys-2 is not yet commercially available. To obtain a beta release of Oasys-2 please email us from the Contacts page. There are two other flavours of Oasys, Oasys-3 and Oasys-N, but these have not been independently validated as yet.
