BOHRF Original Authors' Main Conclusions

The original authors' main conclusions are taken from Abstract, Results and Discussion. They are decided upon by the authors of the BOHRF occupational asthma guidelines and form part of the guidelines.

The pattern of incidence of allergy to laboratory animals was studied prospectively in 383 individuals occupationally exposed to rodents and to rabbits. The reduction in the incidence of the disease coincided with the introduction of a site order and code of practice for working with animals and an education programme designed to focus awareness on the problem.
