Thiamine was shown to be the cause of occupational asthma when sprayed onto cereals during production. More than one worksite was involved. Challenge tests were positive. One worker probably had alveolitis as well as asthma.

To our surprise thiamine has a chemical structure with a high probability of it being as asthmagen.
