Can type IV hypersensitivity cause occupational asthma?

Can type IV hypersensitivity cause occupational asthma?
This paper identifies the cause of occupational asthma from positive patch tests. most had concomitant contact dermatitis, particularly with exposure to metals and persulphates, but also with epoxy resins where most of the evidence points to the resin being the skin sensitiser and the cross-linking amines or anhydrides the cause of the occupational asthma. Can type IV hypersensitivity provide the specificity for the occupational asthma?
